Scandria, the Scandinavian-Adriatic Corridor for Growth and Innovation, is an international project for developing transport systems, with nineteen co-operative partners from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Germany. The aim of the project is to develop more efficient and environmentally friendly transport systems and strategies, with particular emphasis placed on large-volume transport and railway transport. The planned duration of the project is from 2009 to 2012. During the various project stages, the following areas will be researched and developed:
The Jyväskylä Regional Development Company Jykes Ltd is a Finnish participant in the Innoroad Park project. The intermodal transport terminal planned for Innoroad Park is a part of the Scandria project. The first stage of the intermodal transport terminal involves researching the terminal’s need potential and charting the necessary infrastructure and various players. The second stage is connected to the transport of biofuel. The potential for the intermodal transport of biofuels will be investigated, as well as the terminal’s possibilities for functioning as a part of the control and processing system of North European biofuel transport. The end result will be a business plan, operational plan and need plan for the area in question, and the potential for an intermodal transport terminal located in Central Finland
